
Glass Cutting Machinary - Drive Roller Bearing FAILURE
The customer was experiencing inconsistent product finish on a glass cutting machine.
We identified excessive wear in a drive roller bearing. The bearing had failed, causing the shaft to rotate and consequently wear within the bearing's inner race.
Excessive play was causing instability within the drive system and affecting product quality.
The failed bearing was replaced, and fortunately the customer had a spare Roller available. The removed shaft was repaired and stored as a spare.
The issue highlighted the impact that inadequate preventative maintenance can have on equipment reliability and product quality. Following the repair, recommendations were provided covering routine maintenance activities such as bearing lubrication, drive belt condition and tension checks, periodic inspections, and the management of critical spare parts.
As is often the case, many businesses first engage with engineering support following a breakdown. However, a structured preventative maintenance approach can significantly reduce unplanned downtime, extend component life, and lower the overall cost of maintaining production equipment.

A customer required assistance with the handling and loading of heavy components into a test rig, presenting several manual handling challenges.
Holeshot Industrial Services worked with the customer to design and implement a bespoke pull-out system, improving access and reducing manual handling risks during loading and unloading operations. The assembly was designed in such a way that little modification was made to the actual Rig.
The solution improved safety, simplified the process, and enhanced overall operator usability.

We were asked to remove Wates Oils and Coolant from a customers site.
Waste liquids were being stored in the sump of a bunded COSHH cabinet prior to transfer into an IBC. This arrangement presented compliance and environmental risks, including the potential mixing of waste streams and inappropriate use of secondary containment as temporary storage.
Holeshot Industrial Services coordinated the safe removal and disposal of the waste, ensuring all required documentation, including Waste Transfer Notes and Consignment Notes were obtained and recorded. The project improved compliance, reduced environmental risk, and provided a clear audit trail for future inspections.
